Once you see the 2016 Dodge Charger in person, you’ll see why it clearly deserves its name. It looks every bit the mean machine that it is touted to be, but reserves some of its other favorable traits for those who step inside its cabin.
Indeed, the Charger is what you see: a muscle car targeting the single and adventurous market niche. In reality, however, it easily assumes the identity of a family-friendly car–just a bit more head-turning than your average models.
Just the base trim comes equipped with a potent Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Opt for either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Potency doesn’t stop here, however, because you can also choose from the R/T Scat Pack and SRT 392, raising the power bar to 485 horsepower via a 6.4-liter V-8. This one can send you hurtling down the road from a standstill to 60 mph in a jaw-dropping four seconds.
If you really want to turn heads, you can opt for the SE and SXT V-6 models, or perhaps even the insanely impressive Charger SRT Hellcat, which metes out 707 horsepower from a supercharged, 6.2-liter V-8.
All of these choices come nicely packaged in a body that waxes modern and aesthetic, while employing strong, clean lines. At the same time, it dares to pander to a driver’s nostalgic sensibilities with its soda-bottle figure, reminiscent of 1960s de rigueur.
The 2016 Dodge Charger keeps a lot of tricks up its sleeves–in fact, more than meets the eye. Zoom in on all the attributes of this Dodge at El Paso dealerships.
